Welcome to the memorial page for

David Ronald O'Sullivan

April 6, 1947 ~ November 20, 2016 (age 69)

David Ronald O'Sullivan passed away November 20, 2016.

David was born in Port Townsend on April 6, 1947, to Michael Patrick O'Sullivan and Laura "Virginia" Schlichting O'Sullivan. He graduated from Port Angeles High School in 1965.

David proudly served his country from 1966 to 1968 in the U.S. Naval Reserve as a seaman first class. He was stationed at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, aboard the USS Epperson DD 719. His active duty took him to the waters off Vietnam and the West Pacific.

David married the love of his life, Barbara Jo Scott, in Sequim on March 28, 1969, and was blessed with two children, Kerrie and Ryan.

David earned an associate degree in forestry at Peninsula College in 1970, and then he attended the Oregon State University's Forest Engineering, Resources & Management institute in 1978.

David worked at Rayonier Mill in Port Angeles until the late '60s and then went to work for the U.S. Forest Service in presale from 1970 to 2002, when he retired to enjoy his many passions.

He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He pursued these hobbies with all his heart and soul to the very end. He enjoyed being with his family and friends (who were like family). He dearly loved them all. He especially delighted in watching his four grandchildren in their sports and various other events.

David was a member of the American Legion, Forks Post 106 and attended Forks Bible Church. He joined the Port Angeles Parkinson's support group, which greatly helped him deal with the disease.

David is survived by his wife, Barbara Jo Scott O'Sullivan of Forks; his daughter, Kerrie (Michael) DuFour of East Wenatchee, Washington; his son, Ryan (Jennifer) O'Sullivan of Dallas, Oregon; sister Jan (Bob) Hughes of Tenino, Washington; brothers Vilas (Mary) O'Sullivan, Mark (Marsha) O'Sullivan, Daniel O'Sullivan, all of Port Angeles, Michael (Jackie) O'Sullivan of Myrtle Creek, Oregon, and Kevin (Linda) O'Sullivan of Winlock, Washington; and his grandchildren Emily Jo and Alex DuFour of East Wenatchee, and Kaylee and Braden O'Sullivan of Dallas, Oregon.

David was preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Virginia O'Sullivan; his sister Elnora Marihugh; and brother Brian O'Sullivan.

There will be a celebration of life held on Friday, December 30, 2016, at 2 p.m. at Forks Bible Church located at 780 G Street, Forks, WA 98331, followed by a reception in the Fellowship Hall. Burial is at Mount Angeles Memorial Park, with Harper-Ridgeview handling the arrangements.
