Annabelle Leona WasnockJuly 19, 1935 ~ February 20, 2017 (age 81)
Annabelle Leona Wasnock, 81 passed away peacefully on February 20th, surrounded by loved ones.
Annabelle was born July 19, 1935 in Milwaukee, WI to Leo and Ruth Smasal.
She was the fifth of their eight children. The family moved several times early in her life to Stanley, WI, Poulson, MT and Chimacum, WA before eventually settling in Port Angeles, WA when Annabelle was six years old. She graduated from Port Angeles High School in 1953.
Annabelle was married on October 5th, 1957 to Ronald Wasnock. Together they juggled raising seven sons while managing a small business in Port Angeles for over 40 years. As a mother of seven boys, she enjoyed going on family trips, wearing out many cars, boats and trailers in the process. Family gatherings at the Wasnock Headquarters have grown in size over the years to include several generations. You can be sure that nobody went hungry in her household as she was very proficient at cooking for large crowds. Thanksgiving and Christmas were especially festive times together. Some of her favorite activities were watching her kids and grandkids sporting events, fishing, sewing, gardening, golfing, playing Bingo and trips to Reno. She was an avid Mariners and Seahawks fan and loved Gonzaga basketball.
She enjoyed social outings, dancing and having fun with friends such as the Thompson’s, Green’s and Lannoye’s.
Annabelle was a member of Queen of Angels Parish, was active in a guild and in school activities, parents clubs and Cub Scout softball.
Annabelle was preceded in death by her mother and father; brothers Cliff, Jerry and Thomas Smasal; sisters Shirley (Foley), Mary (Hartman) and Bea (Loundagin).
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Ronald Wasnock, sister Patty (Gary) Bovey and her sons Steve (Teresa), Jim, Tom (Jenifer), David (Darcy), Mike (Janine), John (Brandi) and Jeff.
She will also be greatly missed by her 13 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
